THANKSGIVING DAY

This week  in English we have learnt about "thanksgiving", a very important festivity in America. Following the tradition, every 4th Thursday of November families meet together to have lunch and give thanks for everything they have. 

In class we have thought about what we can be thankful for, and fortunately we have plenty of beautiful things in our lifes, 5th grade students wish you a NICE THANKSGIVING DAY!

Mother´s day

How hard have we worked in our Art lessons! But it was worth it! We want to wish our mums, grandmothers and aunts a very special and happy day! We hope they'll love the flower keyrings we've made for them!

WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE by Maurice Sendak

What a lovely story we discovered with our teacher Mary! Where the Wild Things are by Maurice Sendak is a great story, whose main character Max becomes king of the wild things and can do anything he wants. After reading the story and watching it, we coloured a very big poster in collaboration with our primary schoolmates and some scary masks too! Isn’t it nice?

¡¡Despedida de la teacher!!

Son todo bondad y dulzura 100%, así son mis pequeños/as de 5º.

Hace 15 días se enteraron de que nuestra querida teacher Noe se iba del cole, se le había terminado la sustitución que estaba haciendo.

Ese mismo día nos pusimos manos a la obra para planificar que podíamos hacer para darle una "fiesta/sorpresa de despedida".

La lluvia de ideas que salió fue ENORME, una tras otra, una tras otra...

Al final, como solo teníamos una semana,y teníamos que dar materia para los exámenes, decidieron que no bajaríamos esa semana al patio para dejar todo listo y poder darle la sorpresa el viernes.

Desde aquí queremos recordarle a la teacher Noe, aunque ya se lo dijimos, que la vamos a echar mucho de menos. 

Le queremos dar las gracias por todo lo que nos ha ayudado, por sus clases divertidas, por su apoyo, por su colaboración en el proyecto Hugo en casa... por todo!

Dejas en cada uno de nosotros/as una huella GIGANTE y eso nunca nada ni nadie lo va a borrar.

Sigue siempre con esa sonrisa y vitalidad que sabemos que llegarás muy lejos porque te lo mereces.

In English and art classes we have been working and learning about the frog life cycle.

We were very interested in, so we decided to make a fun craft.

This week in English, we have celebrated THANKSGIVING DAY. Thalia, our American teacher, has explained us that it´s a very important day in her country. In USA every 4^th Thursday of November families meet together to have lunch and give thanks for everything they have.

She very kindly shared this tradition with us and showed an important aspect of her culture: THANK VERY MUCH.

In English with our teachers Andrea and Noelia we were learning about Halloween, and we have made these fabulous bat masks.

As you would know, Halloween is celebrated on October 31st every year. The holiday began as a Celtic festival from Ireland called Samhain.

Long time ago, during Samhain, people carved out scary faces and figures in giant turnips, placed a candle inside, and set in their windows to scare away evil ghosts and enemies.

Nowadays the turnips have been replaced by orange pumpkins. The traditional colors for Halloween are black and orange, and the most known Halloween characters are: ghosts, witches, skeletons, vampires, werewolves, bats and black cats.
